Montfort Care, with its network of Family Service Centres and Goodlife Centres, will be training all its client-facing staff – social workers, case workers, counsellors, healthcare associates and programme executives to equip them with the knowledge and skills to advocate, initiate, facilitate and document ACP conversations.
To-date, Montfort Care has conducted 5 runs of the ACP facilitator training workshop and trained more than 130 of its care professionals between March and May 2018. This organisational effort will make Montfort Care a pioneer among voluntary welfare organisation (VWO) in the social services sector to incorporate ACP conversations into its existing service delivery framework across all its facilities in Singapore. From 1 June 2018, ACP service will be made available free of charge to all residents residing in locations where there is a Montfort Care facility.
